Welcome to My Self‑Care Sabbatical
This space was born from the deepest heartbreak of my life — losing my beautiful 33‑year‑old daughter to breast cancer. Grief changed me in ways I never expected. It unraveled the life I knew, shook my foundations, and left me searching for a way to keep breathing in a world that suddenly felt unfamiliar.
In the months that followed, I realized I needed to step away from everything I had been holding together. I needed room to rest, to feel, to fall apart, and to slowly rebuild. My self‑care sabbatical became that space — a pause, a refuge, a commitment to tending to my mind, heart, body, spirit, and the practical foundations of my life.
Here, I’m sharing the practices, reflections, and small moments that are helping me navigate loss, trauma, and the long, uneven path of healing. My hope is that if you’re carrying something heavy too, you’ll find comfort, companionship, and a reminder that you don’t have to rush your way back to yourself.
Healing can be slow. It can be soft. And it can still be sacred.
About This Sabbatical Grief changed everything. It unraveled the life I knew and left me searching for a way to keep moving through days that felt too heavy to hold. In that darkness, I realized I needed time — real time — to tend to my mind, my heart, my body, my spirit, and the foundations of my life that had been shaken to their core.
My self‑care sabbatical is my commitment to healing with intention, softness, and honesty. It’s a journey shaped by love, loss, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going.
A Dedication to My Daughter This space is for her. For the light she brought into the world. For the love she gave so freely. For the strength she showed every day. And for the way she continues to guide me, even now.
Her life is woven into every word, every reflection, every moment of healing shared here.

My daughter, Lauren. Forever loved. Forever my inspiration.
